P.E. classes - excuses for medical reasons

Students with long-term medical conditions requiring excuse from participating in Physical Education classes must submit a physician's note at the beginning of the year or at the time the medical condition is diagnosed.

Students with broken bones/sutures will be restricted from Physical Education classes and recess until a physician's note is received.

Additional information may be requested from the physician seen in order to respond to the student's need in an appropriate manner.

Parental excuses for medical reasons will be honored for no more than two consecutive classes.  The need to miss more than one day's class will be assessed and appropriate referral made if medical care appears necessary.
